Style and Focus of Practices and Games
We practice like we play. We train in reality, based on motor skill research.
The game teaches the game.
CONTACTS PER HOUR
You learn by doing more so than by watching. We will maximize our practice by getting multiple game-like touches.
PARENTING = COACHING = TEACHING
The ideas and lessons taught are based on the principles of teaching, including the sandwich method of praise-critique-praise, peer coaching, modeling and other research-based methods.
EFFORT AND MASTERY OVER OUTCOME
We focus on the effort to play hard and play right in a game as opposed to the outcome. We want to win, but we also learn from competing and even losing.
READING Teams and Players
Becoming a student of the game means players learn how to read a hitter or study the offense to know the holes. This makes a more complete player who can utilize her skills. This helps the player to understand how to better the ball for her teammate and set the team up to succeed.
